For sure you’ve heard of such physical activity as Pilates. Nowadays this method is gaining popularity all over the world. Among the fans of Pilates are famous singers and actresses, Olympic champions, and supermodels.
To date, the name Pilates generalizes a certain set of movements to work out the whole body, but in fact it is the surname of the founder – Joseph Hubert Pilates. Joseph Pilates called his method “contrology”. The aim of the method was to develop every muscle in the body so accurately and scientifically correctly, that a person gained health and control over his body.
The method of Pilates is truly unique, first of all by the fact that it is suitable for everyone, regardless of age, level of physical fitness, state of health and lifestyle. Only the construction of the program, the repertoire of exercises and the use of equipment will differ. Therefore, individual training is necessary here, at least in the beginning of acquaintance with this system. A huge role is played by a teacher in Pilates! The professionalism of the coach is your health. After training, there should be only pleasant emotions and sensations. Usually, you will simply want to lengthen and expand during whole after class.
Each Pilates class can be compared to a lesson or experiment, because at each workout you study your body, look for an approach to it, track your sensations and observe the effect of each exercise. Pilates introduces us to how to rebuild the body, remove excess load from the joints, relax the muscle clamps, reduce the effects of compensatory phenomena, taking into account the individual anatomical and functional characteristics of each body.
Breathing is playing a huge role in the effectiveness of Pilates exercises. In Pilates, diaphragm-lateral breathing is predominantly used, which actively involves and improves blood circulation of the deep-lying musculature of the spine and positively influences postural correction.

Individual Pilates training consists of the basic set of necessary exercises for you and breathing techniques. The lesson lasts 50-60 minutes. Before the beginning of the classes, there must be a lesson-screening: calculation of functional indicators and body condition, questioning and interview. In some cases, the coach may refuse to start a training program in view of recommending an additional survey.
